Brian Dixon

Executive Chef Director at Cook My Grub

After witnessing the damaging effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the hospitality sector, resulting in thousands of chefs being made redundant across the country, Brian Dixon made it his mission to support a positive change within the sector. In 2020, after being an active chef on Cook My Grub - the leading UK marketplace to offer authentic, home-made cuisines that cannot be found on the high street – Brian teamed up with the Co-Founders, Shabbir Mookhtiar and Dinesh Patil, to support their drive to build healthier, happier, and wealthier communities across the country. Drawing on his extensive 18-year experience in the food industry, Brian joined the team as Chef Director to assist in the creation of video guides and training materials to help aspiring and professional chefs get back into the world of work. Key to his role is working alongside Cook My Grub’s newly recruited chefs, aiding them with their menu development. Brian is solely responsible for delivering allergy awareness and Hygiene Level 2 training to all chefs on the app, and ensuring their food is safely prepared within the confines of the Food Standard Authority’s framework. He also conducts regular hygiene audits and supports chefs with required local council registrations. Brian started his career back in 2003 as an Apprentice at Baytree Restaurant - helping to prepare food for weekend service. He has since worked as a Sous Chef and a Head Chef, provided tutoring at Straight A Training, and even owned his own company; Blackbird Food House.
