Senior Hatchery Manager at Cooke Aquaculture Scotland

Jim Murphy is an experienced aquaculture professional with extensive expertise in hatchery management. Currently serving as Senior Hatchery Manager at both Cooke Aquaculture Ltd and Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd since August 2010, Jim has successfully overseen the construction and commissioning of a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) smolt hatchery and has managed the production of millions of smolt annually since 2011. Previously, Jim held the position of Hatchery & Broodstock Manager at Grieg Seafood BC Ltd, managing a facility that produced over 2 million Atlantic salmon smolt each year, and served as Hatchery Manager for Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association, managing a remote hatchery that produced multiple species of fry for fisheries enhancement. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries & Aquaculture Biology from the University of New Brunswick.
