Sarah Barack is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as the Head of Conservation and Senior Objects Conservator at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum since January 2018. With a foundational background as co-proprietor at SBE Conservation from May 2008 to January 2018, Sarah managed various responsibilities including business development and client management. Extensive experience includes consulting for the Art Conservation Group to address Hurricane Sandy's impact on artworks and serving as adjunct faculty at NYU's Conservation Center, where Sarah instructed courses on conservation and business practices. Additional roles include contributions as Samuel H. Kress Fellow in Technical Art History at Yale University Art Gallery, co-chairing the K-12 Outreach Working Group for the American Institute for Conservation, and earlier positions at the American Museum of Natural History and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Educational credentials include an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA in Art History from New York University, and a BA in Old World Art and Archaeology from Brown University.
