Engineering Manager

We are a fast-growing and well-funded FinTech startup that has the rare opportunity to build a successful company and do some good in the world at the same time. We are looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to join our product team. This role will be focused on the operational excellence of our engineering organization, including team resourcing and development, process improvement, and has potential for feature development and technical architecting.

What to expect in your role

You will be joining a small, tight-knit team that has built successful venture-backed businesses in the past, and are excited to do it again.

In this role you will collaborate cross functionally with engineering, product, and design leadership as we build new products and features. You will be an advocate for the intersection of engineering and business priorities. You will directly manage the engineering teams responsible for building our core product and additional offerings.

This role is fully remote (US only) and reports directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

What you’ll do

  • Manage engineering teams
  • Collaborate cross functionally with product leadership and other departments
  • Implement and maintain engineering process focused on operational excellence
  • Build teams and hire new engineers
  • Write code and/or contribute to technical architecture decisions

What your experience looks like

  • 5+ years experience managing distributed engineering teams
  • Startup environments with rapid growth products preferred
  • Directly recruited, hired, and retained top engineering talent
  • Implemented and managed engineering best practices in an agile environment
  • Built or managed a product from the ground up
  • Empathetic leader who values diversity of opinion
  • Comfortable with data-driven decision making and prioritization
