Richard Yolland

Richard Yolland has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Richard is currently the Head of Commercial Programmes at Copper.co, where they manage design, technical, field, commercial, and logistic issues. Richard is also responsible for managing the program's budget and building high-performance delivery teams. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Solution Engineering at Copper.co, where they qualified and scoped client requirements to deliver technology solutions and advised on digital asset strategy.

Richard's previous experience includes working as a Principal Consultant at SH Consulting, where they provided advice for data and digital strategy and transformation initiatives. Richard also worked at J.P. Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank in various roles, including Data Commercialisation Director, Head of Business Analysis & Data Management, and Business Architect & Programme Manager.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, Richard worked at BNP Paribas Investment Bank as a Fixed Income Change Manager and Fixed Income Business Manager. Richard also held positions at Commerzbank AG Investment Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, Nedcor Investment Bank, and Investec Investment Bank.

Richard started their career as a Research Scientist in Particle Physics at De Beers Industrial Diamonds.

Richard Yolland has a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they obtained from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, they completed their first year of Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Commercial Maths, Commercial Law, and Psychology in 1990 at the same university. Richard also has a Bachelor of Science Honours in Physics and Applied Mathematics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they completed in 1994. In addition, Richard Yolland has obtained a certification in Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2022.
