Michael O'Brien

Michael O'Brien is a seasoned professional in building automation and systems integration, currently serving as a Senior Building Application Engineer at CopperTree Analytics since October 2020. With prior experience as a Project Manager at DHC Communications and a Facility Operations Coordinator for The City of Calgary, O'Brien has demonstrated expertise in overseeing complex projects and managing operations. Notably, O'Brien founded Benchmark Building Performance and has held key roles at Southampton-Trane and Canem Systems Ltd., where responsibilities included technical leadership and project design for multi-vendor systems integration. Earlier in their career, O'Brien worked as a Controls Technician at Fraser Valley Controls, where skills in project design and installation of building automation systems were developed. O'Brien's education includes a degree from Red Deer Polytechnic, and Michael is currently pursuing certification as an Energy Manager at the Central Institute of Educational Technology.
