Charlie Morss

Charlie Morss is currently the Head of Engineering at Copy.ai. Prior to this, they served as the CTO Advisor at NextStep from October 2019 to April 2022. In this role, they led the technical team at Urbanspoon, the leading restaurant and food discovery app and web site. Charlie was responsible for all technical teams including native apps, web, back-end, network operations, database management, and QA / test automation. Charlie was also a key part of the Urbanspoon leadership team, reporting to the CEO.

After helping to significantly increase revenue and overall company value, Charlie assisted in the sale of Urbanspoon to Zomato. Prior to their time at NextStep, Charlie was a Staff Engineer at Stripe from June 2017 to September 2019. In this role, they engineered first-in-class transaction fraud detection systems. Charlie also worked with external and internal stakeholders to extend Stripe's Radar product to meet the needs of enterprise merchants.

Before their time at Stripe, Charlie served as the VP of Engineering at Apptentive from October 2015 to June 2017. Prior to that, they were the CTO of Zomato USA from January 2015 to August 2015. Before their time at Zomato, Charlie served as the CTO at Audiosocket from October 2011 to August 2014. Charlie then served as the CTO at Urbanspoon (acquired by Zomato) from August 2014 to December 2014.

Charlie Morss' educational career includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.
