Thomas Friend is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in designing and developing a variety of applications. Currently, Thomas serves as a Senior Software Engineer at Copyright Clearance Center, where responsibilities include creating Java web applications and services using frameworks such as Java, Burlap, Ibatis, Spring, and Struts since February 2000. Prior to this role, Thomas contributed as a Senior Software Engineer at Insurance Technology Services of America, developing client-server applications with Power Builder and Oracle DB. Experience also includes a position at Watson Wyatt International Consulting, focusing on client-server applications for insurance and medical records, and earlier work at Colonial Mutual Funds, where mainframe applications in 4GL were developed to manage fund transactions. Thomas holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of Maine.
