Phanor Montoya-Maya is an accomplished marine biologist with extensive experience in coral restoration and marine conservation. Currently serving as an Advisory Board Member at the Coral Restoration Consortium since May 2024 and as Restoration Program Manager for the Coral Restoration Foundation™ since July 2022, Phanor has effectively led teams and enhanced coral restoration initiatives. As the CEO and Founder of Corales de Paz, Phanor pioneered Colombia’s largest coral reef restoration project, and previously contributed as a Research Associate and Technical & Scientific Officer at Nature Seychelles. Phanor holds a PhD in Marine Biology and Ecological Genetics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and has managed and participated in numerous research and restoration projects across various international platforms. With a strong educational background and a commitment to marine conservation, Phanor continues to influence strategies for coral reef recovery and resilience.
