Yawei Ye

Yawei Ye has a strong work experience in the field of autonomous driving system development and machine learning research. Starting in 2017, they worked as a Perception Research Engineer at nuTonomy, an AI startup focused on autonomous driving. During their time there, they led projects on building a novel machine learning approach for predicting vehicle behavior and constructing a machine learning-based construction zone detection system. Their work resulted in a patented system and a significant reduction in manual disengagement rate. In 2020, Yawei joined Lyft's Level 5 self-driving division as an ML Research Scientist. They contributed to creating a self-driving system for ridesharing and played a role in achieving Lyft's mission of saving lives, reducing emissions, and building cities around people and not cars. Currently, Yawei is working as a Founding Engineer at Coram AI, where they continue to apply their expertise in autonomous driving system development.

Yawei Ye completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Robotics, Systems and Control at ETH Zürich from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014.
