Mac Lowry has a diverse work experience in the energy and environmental sectors. Mac began their career with the BC Ministry of Forests as an Initial Attack Forest Fire Fighter from 2003 to 2005. Mac then transitioned to PGL, where they worked as an Environmental Scientist and Lead Environmental Monitor from 2005 to 2010. Mac then joined Plutonic Power Corporation as an Environmental Manager from 2010 to 2011. Following that, they worked at Alterra Power Corp. as a Senior and later as a Senior Environmental Manager from 2011 to 2018. Mac joined Innergex as a Senior Development Manager (USA) from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they hold a position at Cordelio Power as the Director of Project Development and was recently promoted to Senior Director of Project Development in 2023.
Mac Lowry's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Natural Resources Conservation, which was obtained from The University of British Columbia. This degree was pursued from 1998 to 2010. Later, Mac pursued a Masters in Forestry (Candidate) with a specialization in Environmental Assessment and Land Use Planning at The University of British Columbia in 2010.
In addition to their academic degrees, Mac Lowry has obtained several certifications. In 2010, they became a Registered Professional Biologist after receiving certification from the College of Applied Biology. In 2015, they obtained a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Finally, in 2019, they received certification in Financial Modelling for Renewable Energy Projects from Mazars - Infrastructure & Energy (Corality).
