Jihad (Jay) Zaghloul, P.E., CEM

Jihad (Jay) Zaghloul has extensive experience in the energy industry, holding various leadership positions throughout their career. Jihad (Jay) currently serves as the West Region Business Development Director and Client Relations at Cordia since October 2022. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as the Southwest Regional Business Development Director at Clearway Community Energy. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, Jihad was the Director of Business Development and Client Relations at NRG Energy.

Before joining NRG Energy, Jihad had a long tenure at Arizona Public Service (APS). Jihad (Jay) held multiple roles at APS, including Department Manager for Transmission & Distribution Planning and Siting, Distribution Planning and Operations Support Section Leader, Department Section Leader, and Section Leader for Technical Key Account Management. Jihad (Jay)'sresponsibilities involved evaluating renewable and smart circuit technologies, managing key accounts, and overseeing power purchase agreements and renewable projects.

Jihad also played a crucial role in the unregulated affiliate APS Energy Services/Northwind Phoenix from 2000 to 2010. As the Director of Business Development and Clients Accounts Management, they were responsible for revenue generation, contract negotiations, and customer accounts management. Additionally, they led a sales team that consistently exceeded annual sales targets and achieved high customer satisfaction results.

Earlier in their career, Jihad worked at APS/PVNGS (Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station) as an Engineering Section Leader. Jihad (Jay) was involved in various engineering and leadership positions, including PVNGS Design Basis project manager, and contributed to the construction, startup, and operation of PVNGS.

Jihad (Jay) Zaghloul, P.E., CEM pursued their primary higher education at the University of Arizona from 2016 to 2020. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering, indicating their focus on this specific field of study. Before their time at the University of Arizona, Jihad attended West Coast University/Long Beach State from 1984 to 1987. Here, they achieved a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Engineering and Scientific Management, showcasing their dedication to the study of engineering and management within a scientific context.
