Ben Shaughnessy

Ben Shaughnessy has extensive work experience in the financial technology industry. Ben began their career as a Project Manager at Sema Group, where they worked for an extended period. Ben then joined Essentis Ltd as a Product Manager, specializing in back-office credit card solutions. After the business was acquired by Euronet Essentis, they continued to serve as a Client Director.

Shaughnessy then moved on to ACI Worldwide, where they held the position of Sales Development Manager before becoming a Solutions Lead for Retail and Back Office. In this role, they managed the solutions consulting team and served as the global product lead for card and merchant management systems.

Ben later joined Visa as a Senior Business Development Leader, overseeing a business transformation program for the Visa prepaid processing business. Ben played a key role in the sale of the Visa Processing Service (VPS) business to Wirecard, ensuring a smooth transition of client relationships.

At Wirecard, Shaughnessy held various roles, including Head of Product - Issuing Processing, Vice President - Issuing Business Wirecard Division Issuing, and Vice President - Issuing Products. Ben led teams in multiple locations worldwide, focusing on prepaid and debit card solutions for banks, corporations, and merchants.

Most recently, Shaughnessy joined CoreCard Software, Inc. as Vice President - Issuing Products.

Ben Shaughnessy attended De Montfort University from 1988 to 1991, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
