J. Scott Ellis is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in contract compliance and governance within various industries. Currently serving as the Assistant General Counsel for CoreCivic since September 2015, Ellis oversees compliance for a leading government solutions company specializing in corrections facility management. Previously, in a multifaceted role as Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at FutureNet Security Solutions, Ellis managed legal affairs and compliance for a firm focused on security systems for governmental and corporate clients. Prior experience includes serving as Division Counsel at Smith & Wesson, where Ellis established its Legal Department for the Physical Security Division, and working as a Police Officer and legal instructor with the City of Brentwood. Ellis holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Tennessee and a BS in Management from Middle Tennessee State University, along with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
