Chris Gibbons

Senior Lecturer (retired) at Cork Institute of Technology

Chris Gibbons is a retired Senior Lecturer from Munster Technological University, with extensive experience in engineering and renewable energy. Chris served in various roles, including Course Coordinator for the BEng (Hons) Degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering and conducted research on solar thermal/pv hybrid devices. Previously, Chris held the position of Principal Investigator at Tec Nimbus focusing on PV performance enhancement and microgrid integration of renewables. Additional academic contributions include serving as an External Examiner at Limerick Institute of Technology and lecturing on Solar Energy at University College Cork. Chris began a research career as an engineer at various institutions, including the University of Sheffield and BSRIA, and holds advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Daylight Modelling from the University of Bath and The University of Sheffield, respectively.
