Teresa García Berrocoso

Teresa García Berrocoso has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Teresa currently works as a Scientific Manager for CORNEA PROJECT S.L. Teresa'sprevious role was as a Researcher in Proteomics and Quality Manager at CSIC, where they were involved in setting up the Mass Spectrometry Imaging platform for molecular histology, drug tracking, and biomarker discovery in disease-related tissues. Teresa also had national collaborations and was responsible for sample preparation and data analysis.

Before that, Teresa worked as a Researcher in Molecular Biomarkers at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) for almost a decade. During this time, they focused on assessing and discovering blood biomarkers for stroke using various molecular biology techniques and statistical analyses. Teresa also managed a biobank collection of brain and blood stroke samples and coordinated multicenter biomarker and biotechnological projects.

Teresa also gained research experience as a Research Intern in Proteomics at Université de Genève, where they learned MS-based proteomics techniques and played a role in the technical setting-up of a project related to the analysis of human brain cells after ischemic stroke.

In the early stages of their career, Teresa worked as a Research Fellow at Universitat de Barcelona. Here, they focused on the characterization of antitumor natural drugs in an in vitro model of leukemia and gained experience in GC/MS metabolomics and systems biology approaches.

Teresa García Berrocoso has a strong educational background in the field of medicine. Teresa obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Medicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, completing their studies between 2011 and 2014. Prior to this, they pursued a Master of Research degree in Medicine - Neurology at the same institution, from 2009 to 2010.

In terms of undergraduate studies, Teresa attended the Universitat de Barcelona. Teresa earned a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Biochemistry, graduating between 2006 and 2008. Before that, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Biology from the same university, completing their studies between 2001 and 2007.

Additionally, Teresa has acquired certifications in Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) from Junta de Andalucía in July 2019, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) from Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research and Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca in November 2018.
