Eliza Hensel

Eliza Hensel is a dedicated Natural Resources Educator at Cornell University, a position held since July 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Compost Systems Educator at Michigan State University from September 2023 to September 2025 and managing compost operations at Eckerd College both as a Compost Manager from August 2019 to May 2022 and earlier in the role of Compost Manager at The Urban Harvest from January 2022 to September 2023. Eliza has a background in training and managing volunteers in composting and recycling initiatives on campus. Additionally, Eliza gained experience as an Estuary Education Intern with Tampa Bay Watch in early 2019. Eliza holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Animal Studies from Eckerd College, obtained in May 2022.
