Kathryn Burkgren has extensive experience in organizational development and effectiveness, currently serving as AVP for both Organizational Development and Effectiveness and Organizational Development and Talent Management at Cornell University since January 2015. In this role, Kathryn provides strategic direction and oversight to an 11-member team focused on organizational development, talent management, and workforce development, while collaborating with leadership across various campuses, including Ithaca, New York City, and Qatar. Additionally, Kathryn operates Burkgren Organizational Consulting, offering training and consulting services to enhance individual and organizational performance in higher education since 2000. Previous roles at Cornell University include Director of Organizational Development for Faculty & Staff and Manager of Organizational Learning & Development, where Kathryn led initiatives for change and culture transformation. Kathryn holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a focus on Organizational Behavior and Creativity from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education and Journalism from Iowa State University.
