John Sandell joined the firm in 2018, bringing several years of tax policy expertise to serve a variety of multinational, domestic and non-profit clients. During his tenure at the Ways and Means Committee, John provided advice, staffed, and briefed the Chairman, Members, and senior staff on tax law and tax policy. John served under three successive Republican Committee Chairmen: Dave Camp (R-MI), Paul Ryan (R-WI), and Kevin Brady (R-TX). John’s core expertise includes working on the drafting, development, negotiation, and passage into law of several pieces of tax legislation, including the 2018 Bipartisan Budget Act, the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the 2015 PATH Act and CR/Omnibus, the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014, the 2014 Camp Draft, and the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, among others.
