Ian McDougall has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ian began their career as Bid Coordinator for the Winnipeg 1999 Pan Am Games Bid Committee. Ian then worked as Executive Director for the Interlake Sport Development Association. McDougall also served as Team Leader for the Ontario Sport and Recreation Centre (Sport Ontario). Ian further honed their skills as Manager of Sport Services at Special Olympics Ontario. McDougall joined the Corporation of the Town of Newmarket, where they held various roles, including Manager of Marketing, Special Events and Culture, Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture, and Director of Recreation and Culture. Ian then transitioned to the role of Commissioner, Community Services. Currently, McDougall is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the Town of Newmarket. With a strong background in sports and recreation, McDougall has built a successful career in various leadership positions within the public sector.
Ian McDougall received a Diploma in Public Administration from Western University between 2010 and 2012. Previously, they obtained a Masters Certificate in Municipal Management from the Schulich School of Business - York University between 2007 and 2009. Ian'sundergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Recreation Studies, which they completed at the University of Manitoba from 1990 to 1994.
