Karthik Venkataraman

Karthik Venkataraman has held various IT roles throughout their career. Karthik is currently serving as the Director of Information Technology at the Town of Newmarket since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Mohawk College as the Director of IT Systems and Integration from June 2019 to April 2021. Before that, they held the positions of Senior Manager of Information Technology and Manager of Infrastructure & Operations at the City of St. Catharines from August 2014 to June 2019. From June 1999 to August 2014, Karthik served as the IT Director at Benchmark Management. Karthik also worked at E.D.S./Xerox as a Site Project Manager and Technical Lead Specialist from January 1997 to January 1999, and at Johnson & Johnson as a Desktop Support Analyst from June 1995 to May 1997. Karthik started their career as an Assistant LAN Administrator at the University at Buffalo from June 1992 to June 1995.

Karthik Venkataraman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995. Karthik also has a Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Buffalo, which they completed from 2001 to 2004. Additionally, Karthik has a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Buffalo, which they earned from 2003 to 2005. Karthik has additional certifications as a Certified Systems Professional from Watchguard Technologies and ITIL v3 Foundation from EXIN.
