Mehedi Al Islam

Mehedi Al Islam has a diverse work experience in engineering and consulting roles. Mehedi Al is currently working as a Product Development Consultant at CORSphere since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Electrical Reliability Engineer at Vale in 2020, where they analyzed plant assets and developed maintenance plans. Mehedi Al also facilitated Failure Mode Effect Analysis and performed Risk Assessments and Root Cause Analysis.

In 2019, Mehedi worked as an Instrumentation and Control Engineer at Wood, where they developed engineering deliverables and prepared technical specifications for various instruments. Mehedi Al also performed thermowell frequency calculations and valve sizing calculations.

In 2018, they worked as an Electrical Engineering Co-op at Vale, where they designed thermal powerhouses and power distribution systems for a mining operation. Mehedi Al conducted design calculations according to the Canadian Electrical Code.

Mehedi also gained experience as a Project Lead at ISN in 2018, where they contributed to developing a decentralized insurance model on Blockchain.

In 2017, they worked as an Electrical Engineering Co-op at Vale, collaborating with multi-disciplined teams to analyze mine designs and plan power distribution systems. Mehedi Al also completed load studies and finalized generator size and design.

Mehedi started their career as a Co-op Student at Vale in 2015, where they assisted the instrumentation and reliability teams and gained experience in PLC programming and SCADA system troubleshooting. Mehedi Al also optimized electrical networks and updated equipment data and graphics.

Before their engineering roles, Mehedi co-founded Entirity Solutions in 2011 and worked as a Tutor at Cephalon International from 2010 to 2013.

Mehedi Al Islam completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Mehedi Al attended this university from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2013, they attended Cephalon International and obtained their 'O' Level and 'A' Level under the Edexcel Board of the United Kingdom. Mehedi Al also holds a certification in Emergency First Aid from the Canadian Red Cross, although the exact date of obtaining this certification is not specified.
