Josie Matute, CPA

Josie Matute, CPA has over 18 years of experience in the accounting profession. Josie began their career in 2003 as an Intermediate Accountant at Farmers Insurance Group Federal Credit Union, where they were responsible for general financial accounting including NCUA/financial statement preparation, analyses and memorandums for board members, property and withholding tax preparation. Josie also trained staff accountants in general financial accounting and reporting, and implemented a Certificate of Deposit investment portfolio as a new revenue stream for the credit union. In 2006, Josie moved to ICM Partners as a Senior Staff Accountant, where they performed financial accounting and reporting including AP, AR, Payroll, general ledger posting, reconciliations and financial statements, and was responsible for the calculation of accruals and deferments including fixed assets depreciation, prepaids, interest accrual, deferred rent, intangibles and loan cost amortization AR and AP. In 2013, Josie joined Green Hasson Janks as a Senior Associate - A&A. Josie then moved to nutribullet | magic bullet in 2015, where they served as Financial Controller, Director of Accounting, Accounting Manager and Senior Accountant. In their various roles, they were responsible for monthly accounting close including preparation of GAAP consolidated financial statements and various MD&A reporting packages for owners, and supervised, supported and developed the accounting staff in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes as well as various month close processes such as accruals and prepaids. In 2022, Josie joined Cosm as Corporate Controller.

Josie Matute, CPA, completed a Certificate of Accounting through the Extension Program at the University of California, Los Angeles between 2008 and 2010. Prior to this, they earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Southern California between 1999 and 2003.
