Gina Bauman

Gina Bauman joined Cota Capital in 2022 as Head of Capital Formation. She brings extensive fundraising, investor relations, and marketing experience to the firm. Gina joined Cota after her thirteen-year tenure at IVP, a later-stage venture capital and growth equity firm, where she helped to grow the firm from $2.3 billion to $8.7 billion in committed capital and was responsible for creating and managing the investor relations, marketing, and communication programs, as well as working closely with firm’s portfolio companies.

Gina started her venture capital career at Nokia Venture Partners, a corporate venture capital firm, where she was responsible for marketing, communications, and operations. During her ten years with the firm, she was part of the launch of BlueRun Ventures (BRV), a global early-stage venture capital firm that spun out of Nokia, and managed marketing strategy, public relations, investor relations, and portfolio company marketing support.

Early in her career, she worked in an internationally recognized management consulting firm specializing in corporate strategy. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Tartu, Estonia, and an M.B.A. from the San Francisco State University Graduate School of Business.

Gina also co-chaired the Marketing Communications Council of EF, a non-profit organization that promotes corporate volunteerism and philanthropy, and was an Executive Committee member of the National Venture Capital Association’s Strategic Communications Group.
