Katharina Hellner-Apelt

Katharina Hellner-Apelt currently serves as a Teacher at Fairleigh Dickinson University within the FILL Program, where classes focus on topics related to death. In addition, Katharina has extensive legal experience as a Lawyer, Paralegal, and Law Clerk at Coughlin Midlige & Garland LLP, specializing in reinsurance and insurance law since 2005. As an Ambassador for the alumni of the University of Hamburg in the United States, Katharina connects alumni with local chapters. Previous roles include Chair Woman of the Zuger International Womens Club and Substitute Teacher for German at Zürich International School. Katharina’s legal career began in the late 1980s, involving coordination of liquidation and privatization efforts in the former German Democratic Republic. Educational credentials include a State Law Exam from the University of Hamburg and extensive training in Reiki and Acupressure, culminating in an End-of-Life Doula Certificate from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont.
