Sandra Bishop

CRO at Council for a Strong America

Sandra Bishop leads the research team at Council for a Strong America.

Prior to joining the organization in 2013, Sandra was Assistant Director of Yale University’s Edward Zigler Center in Child Development & Social Policy, and an Associate Research Scientist at the Child Study Center, Yale University School of Medicine. She also worked on Capitol Hill, on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, as a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. Sandra has expertise in research on early childhood education, as well as child abuse and neglect, and the application of research to public policy.

Sandra has authored dozens of academic papers and has edited books, including Child Development and Social Policy: Knowledge for Action. Sandra holds an A. B. in Psychology from Harvard /Radcliffe College, a master’s degree in Child Development from Tufts University, and a doctorate in Developmental Psychology from Yale University.
