Council for Disabled Children
Dr. Pooja Sharma is an experienced Education Programmes Manager at the Council for Disabled Children since May 2021, leading educational project development and providing analysis on SEND policy. Dr. Sharma serves as a Visiting Lecturer at Royal Holloway, University of London, delivering lectures on Inclusion, and previously held roles at Slough Borough Council as a Senior SEND Officer and SEND Officer, managing teams and complex cases for children with SEND. Additional teaching experience includes visiting lectures at the University of Roehampton and research roles at the University of Oxford. Dr. Sharma holds a PhD in Education from the University of Exeter, an MSc in Education (Research Training) from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London.

We're the umbrella body for the disabled children's sector with a membership of over 250 voluntary and community organisations and an active network of practitioners that spans education, health and social care. As a membership body we provide a collective voice that champions the rights of children, young people and their families and challenges barriers to inclusion. We believe that every child and young person should enjoy the same rights and opportunities and that every aspect of society should be fully inclusive to disabled children and young people.
