Principal Researcher II at CSIR

Luzango Mfupe, SMIEEE, is a Principal Researcher II at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) since October 2021, and also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology. With extensive experience in research and development of emerging wireless access technologies, Luzango Mfupe's work encompasses areas such as Dynamic Spectrum Access, 5G mobile networks, Machine-to-Machine communications, and innovative technical regulatory frameworks. Previous roles include Principal Researcher I at CSIR, Senior Researcher at the Meraka Institute, and a part-time lecturer at Tshwane University of Technology, where responsibilities included lecturing and student consultations. Luzango Mfupe co-founded Tuune Mobile, focusing on mobile VoIP applications, and holds both a Doctorate and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications from Tshwane University of Technology.
