Bloomberg Chair In Global Health; Senior Fellow For International Economics, Law And Development at Council on Foreign Relations

Thomas Bollyky holds the position of Bloomberg Chair in Global Health and Senior Fellow for International Economics, Law and Development at the Council on Foreign Relations since August 2011. Alongside this role, Thomas serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, focusing on global health technology regulations. From June 2021 to May 2024, Thomas is a Senior Consultant for the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, advising on biosecurity and trade in vaccine manufacturing. Thomas's prior experience includes directing initiatives at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and leading a project at the Center for Global Development aimed at enhancing clinical trial practices in lower-income regions. Thomas practiced law at Debevoise & Plimpton and the Aids Law Project in South Africa and held various positions, including a Director role at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Thomas earned a JD from Stanford Law School and a BA in Biology and History from Columbia University.
