Brian Kastner has a diverse range of work experience. Brian started their career as a U.S. Senate Intern, where they assisted Senator Burr's office staff with constituent concerns and attended Senate subcommittee hearings. Brian then worked as a Research Analyst/Intern at the American Security Project, focusing on nuclear security and nonproliferation. Brian also held a role as a Research Assistant/Intern at the National Defense University's College of International Security Affairs, where they worked on nuclear weapons and nonproliferation issues. Brian later joined the Alliance for Peacebuilding as a Presidential Assistant and Executive Research and Program Assistant, where they worked on peacebuilding initiatives and conducted research on nuclear security. Brian then moved on to CAF America, where they served as an Officer for Thought Leadership and Communications, as well as a Program Coordinator. Most recently, Brian has been working at the Council on Foundations, where they have held roles such as Manager and Lead Strategist for Global Philanthropy, and currently serves as the Director of Engagement.
Brian Kastner's education history is as follows. In 2010, they attended The George Washington University and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs, which they completed in 2014. During 2010, they also participated in a summer program at Brown University, focusing on Creative Writing. In 2012, Brian attended The American University of Paris for a study abroad program in International Relations. Later, in 2014, they pursued a Master's Degree in International Conflict and Security at the University of Kent, completing it in 2015.
