Jasmin Tobar, MSW, is an accomplished professional in the fields of education and mental health, currently serving as Program Manager for Education Programs and Mentorship at The Salvadoran American Leadership and Education Fund since September 2017. Additionally, Jasmin holds the position of Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia School of Social Work Population Research Center and has extensive experience as a Mental Health Therapist at Counseling In Schools. Further experience includes serving as an MSW Intern at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and various roles with the City of Los Angeles, CFY, and City Year, focusing on community service and educational support. Jasmin Tobar earned a Master of Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary's University.

CIS is a community-based organization, founded in 1986 with a mission to bring quality counseling to students and their families in New York City Public Schools. They work from a multiple perspective approach, assessing each child's developmental, social, emotional, and cultural viewpoint. All their programs serve to support the development of each child so they may experience academic success on their way to becoming more productive members of their communities. Their mission is to advance the positive impact of education on society by providing dynamic school-based social and emotional learning interventions.
