Elise Young

Elise Young currently holds the position of Senior Director of Women’s Empowerment at Counterpart International and the WomenLead Institute, a role commenced in November 2023. Previously, Elise served as Senior Technical Advisor for Gender, Equity, and Social Inclusion at FHI 360, where responsibilities included advancing mainstreaming of gender equity and social inclusion across programs. Prior positions include Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs at Women Thrive Worldwide, Senior Policy Analyst at ActionAid USA, and Senior Consultant at Gender Action. Elise's experience began as a Regional Organizer and International Analyst at Bread for the World and includes advocacy work at Vive la Casa and leadership roles in the Peace Corps. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a BA in Sociology/Anthropology and French from Middlebury College.
