Rafael Carbajal

Rafael Carbajal is an experienced leader in public service, currently serving as the Director at the County of Los Angeles Department of Consumer and Business Affairs since June 2018. The agency focuses on protecting and advocating for consumers while promoting a fair marketplace. Previously, Rafael held roles as Acting Director and Chief Deputy Director within the same department, emphasizing education, advocacy, and complaint resolution. Prior to this, Rafael served as Director of Business Services & Strategic Partnerships at the County of Los Angeles, overseeing workforce development initiatives. Rafael's career commenced at the County of Los Angeles Community and Senior Services, where responsibilities included serving as Special Assistant to the Director and managing employee relations and risk. Rafael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills.
