David Fernandez

David Fernandez is the Chief of Fleet Services for the County of San Diego, a position held since June 2022, where responsibilities include leading vehicle and equipment acquisition, as well as managing the maintenance and fueling of a 4,000-vehicle fleet. Prior to this role, David served in the United States Air Force for over 21 years, progressing through various positions including Vehicle Management Superintendent and Manager of the Air Force Forces Transportation Training Center in Europe. David holds a Master of Public Administration from the American Public University System, a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ashford University, and two Associate of Science degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Technologies and Instructor of Technology/Military Science.
