Senior Scientist at Cour Pharmaceuticals Development

Nicholas Cornell has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmaceutical development and biomaterials research. Nicholas is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Cour Pharmaceuticals Development Company, Inc. since January 2023. Prior to this, they were a PhD candidate at the University of Virginia from August 2017 to January 2023. During their time there, Nicholas worked in the Griffin Research Group, focusing on the development of particle-based biomaterials for regenerative medicine and studying the effects of glycosaminoglycan immobilization on bioactivity.

Nicholas previously had a role as a Graduate Student Intern at Cour Pharmaceuticals Development Company, Inc. in January 2021 to April 2021. In this position, they developed a research project to maintain desirable product properties during scale-up of nanoparticles for food allergy treatment. Nicholas also designed and executed experiments involving nanoparticle synthesis, purification, and characterization. Additionally, they presented their research proposals and results at company-wide meetings.

Before that, Nicholas gained research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from February 2015 to May 2017. Nicholas also volunteered as a Researcher at Northwestern Medicine from June 2015 to August 2016.

Nicholas Cornell began their education in 2013 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Bioengineering with a minor in Mathematical Statistics. Nicholas completed their undergraduate studies in 2017. Following this, Nicholas went on to the University of Virginia in 2017 to pursue further education. Nicholas obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2022.
