Software Engineer at Covariant

Tristan MacKinlay began their work experience as a Logic Tutor for a period from January 2016 to April 2016 while being self-employed. In August 2016, they worked as a Software Developer for Mammoth Interactive until December 2016. Tristan then joined Shaw Telecommunications in May 2017 as a Technical Service Representative until November 2017. From January 2019 to August 2019, they worked as a Web Developer (Intern) for Bananatag, and from September 2019 to December 2020, they were a part-time Software Developer for the same company. From May 2020 to June 2021, Tristan worked as a Research Assistant/Open Source Developer at The University of British Columbia, where they developed an interactive Truth Tree widget for the Carnap Logic educational framework. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at Covariant, starting from January 2022.

Tristan MacKinlay obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) degree from The University of British Columbia, where they studied Computer Science from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, in 2016, they completed an 8-week bootcamp on Web Development at Lighthouse Labs. From 2014 to 2016, Tristan pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at Concordia University. Before attending Concordia, they spent two years studying Fine Arts - Interdisciplinary Performance at the University of British Columbia Okanagan from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Tristan obtained a certification in JavaScript (Intermediate) from HackerRank in October 2021.
