Carolyn Callan

Carolyn Callan is the Commercial Lines Director at Covéa Insurance plc. Carolyn has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Carolyn began their career at Worldpay, where they spent two years as the Head of Customer Operations. Carolyn then moved to Towergate Insurance, where they spent one year as the Business Development & Marketing Director for the Broking Division. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of business development and marketing activity, managing a team of 30 people and a £6m budget.

During their time at Towergate Insurance, they successfully led and delivered a project to launch a new telesales operation of 50 advisors focused on service-led sales to the SME sector. This included the development and roll-out of a new MS Dynamics lead management system to support the new sales operation. Carolyn also identified cost savings of over £1m and obtained approval for a new marketing strategy based on relationship management to fully optimise ROI. As part of this strategy, they developed a business case and implementation plan for the launch of an integrated CRM platform as a central data repository for prospects and customers.

In addition, they developed a fully-costed brand integration plan and refresh of the existing corporate identity to support the consolidation of over 130 brands to a single brand. Finally, they transformed employee morale and reinstated belief in the organisational direction and future success of the business following the much-publicised financial restructuring by

Carolyn Callan's educational career began with their receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing with Management Science from De Montfort University. Carolyn then went on to get their A Levels from Widnes Sixth Form College and their GCE O Levels from The Heath School. Carolyn also has a certification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) in Diploma in Marketing.

Carolyn Callan reports to Adrian Furness, CEO. They are on a team with James Gearey - Managing Director, Personal Lines & Protection, Maria Leighton - CFO, and Laurent Eckert - Chief Risk Officer.
