Frank Calise

Frank Calise is a Senior Software Architect at CoVerified. Frank previously worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Vitralogy from June 2017 to February 2020. At Vitralogy, they were responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining a suite of JavaScript/React applications for legionella compliance and snow validation services in an agile environment. Frank also implemented scalable, real-time communication features with PusherJS and React Context API/redux. In addition, they led a small front-end team for customer facing applications, responsible for React application architecture and aiding in user experience. Frank has also been responsible for software testing and code reviews across various web and mobile applications to deliver better user experience. Frank's other experience includes working with Bootstrap 3, HTML/CSS for responsive web design. Frank also developed and maintained C# APIs related to PusherJS webhooks for additional real-time functionality. Furthermore, they created a proof of concept React Native mobile app as an alternative to the current Xamarin application. Additionally, they set up Storybook to push the team towards a consistent design system and allow for non-developers to view and critique components. Lastly, they extracted common custom components duplicated across multiple applications into a single reusable library accessible through verdaccio private package registry. Frank was one of several original equity partners who helped form the company and create direction for compliance and management software to disrupt the facility maintenance market.

Frank Calise graduated from Sayville High School and went on to study computer engineering at Virginia Tech. After graduating from college, they received certifications in React and Xamarin from LinkedIn and Xamarin respectively.
