Richard Skorpenske

VP Sustainability & Public Affairs at Covestro

Richard Skorpenske has extensive work experience in the chemical industry. Richard has held various roles at different companies, starting with Dow Chemical in 1988 as a Senior Research Chemist. Richard then moved to Lyondell (formerly Arco Chemical) in 1997, where they served as Technical Director until 2000. Skorpenske joined Covestro in 2001 and worked there for several years, taking on positions such as Director of Flexible Foam Applications Development and Head of BaySystems Coordination/Machine Group. From 2009 to 2021, they focused on Polyurethane Advocacy & Sustainability, advancing business objectives through advocacy tools and employee education. Currently, Skorpenske holds the position of VP of Sustainability & Public Affairs at Covestro.

Richard Skorpenske completed their education in the following chronological order:

- From 1980 to 1982, they attended The University of Texas at Austin, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry.

- Returning to academia, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemistry at The University of Texas at El Paso from 1986 to 1988.

- Lastly, from 2015 to 2018, they studied at Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Environmental Science/Policy.
