Ed Akins II, AIA has worked in the architecture industry since 1996, beginning as an Intern Architect at TVS. Ed then moved to Smith Dalia Architects as an Architect in 1997. In 2002, they became a Visiting Lecturer at Southern Polytechnic State University. In 2004, they joined the American Institute of Architects as a Registered Architect and YAF Director. Ed also became a Senior Lecturer at Georgia Tech School of Architecture in the same year. In 2009, they established their own practice, Ed Akins Architect, where they specialized in ethical and sustainable design. Ed also became an Associate Professor at Kennesaw State University in the same year. In 2018, they joined the Architecture & Design Center (ADC) as a Member of the Board of Directors. In 2020, they were appointed as Interim Department Chair at Kennesaw State University - College of Architecture and Construction Management. Finally, in 2022, they joined covetool as the Sales Enablement Director.
Ed Akins II, AIA received a Masters in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 1989 and 1996.
