Lachlan Donald

Lachlan Donald has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Lachlan currently serves as a CTO Advisory/Board Member at Covidence.org since January 2021. In 2016, they became the Director at Strongwater Consulting. Lachlan joined Cash App in July 2021 as a Principal Engineer, and their tenure is expected to end in June 2023. Lachlan also worked as a CTO Advisor/Advisory Board member at Glow from July 2021 to December 2022. Lachlan briefly served as a CTO in Residence at Tractor Ventures from June to August 2021.

One of Lachlan's notable roles was at Buildkite, where they co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer from November 2019 to February 2021. During their time at Buildkite, they raised a significant Series A funding round of $28M and grew the team to 30 members. Before becoming the CEO, Lachlan was the Chief Operating Officer at Buildkite from April 2017 to November 2019. Lachlan also participated as an Angel Investor during the seed investment round at Buildkite.

Lachlan's experience also includes serving as a CTO Advisor at Sidekicker from February to September 2017 and as the CTO at 99designs from February 2008 to April 2016. In their role at 99designs, they facilitated crowdsourced design contests and oversaw significant growth in their designer community. Prior to joining 99designs, Lachlan worked as the Sitepoint.com Development Manager at SitePoint from March 2006 to January 2008. Lachlan was also a Web Developer at SitePoint from 2004 to 2006, where they championed the introduction of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and led a team of developers.

Lachlan Donald pursued their undergraduate education at RMIT University from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honors in Computer Science.
