Robert T. Mackes

Robert T. Mackes has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Currently, they work as an Academic Success Manager at Covidence.org since March 2023. Prior to that, from April 2013 to March 2023, they served as the Executive Director of the Health Sciences Library Association of New Jersey (HSLANJ). During the same tenure, from August 2010 to March 2013, they also worked as a Consultant/Project Manager for the Group Licensing Initiative at HSLANJ.

Before joining HSLANJ, Mackes worked as a Customer Support & Sales Liaison for TDNet from March 2012 to October 2020. Prior to that, they held positions at the Delaware Academy of Medicine | Delaware Public Health Association as the Electronic Resources & Document Delivery Manager from July 2010 to December 2011, and as the DelMIRA Project Director from October 2007 to July 2010.

Earlier in their career, Mackes gained experience as a Medical Librarian at Union Hospital from August 2002 to September 2007, at Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research & Education Corporation from August 1999 to August 2002, at Elizabeth General Medical Center as the Director of the Medical Library from September 1997 to July 1999, and at Warren Hospital as a Medical Librarian from October 1993 to August 1997.

Overall, Mackes has extensive experience in various roles within the healthcare and information management fields, including library management, project management, and customer support and sales.

Robert T. Mackes pursued their higher education at two prestigious institutions. From 1987 to 1990, they attended Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Journalism / Mass Communications. Later, from 1992 to 1994, they studied at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, completing a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree with a specialization in Library Science.
