Solace Awumee, Esq., CDPSE, CIPP/US is currently working as a Data Privacy Officer at COVU, where they implement measures and a privacy governance framework to manage data use in compliance with the GDPR. They also serve as the primary point of contact for all data protection related matters. Previously, they served as the SVP, Chief Data Privacy Officer at B. F. Saul Company, where they built a strategic and comprehensive privacy program and ensured that privacy forms, policies, and procedures were up-to-date. Prior to that, they worked at GEICO as a Data Privacy professional and at SBGI Consulting Firm as a Regulatory Compliance professional, where they assessed program and security controls and developed privacy policies. They also have experience working as a Law Clerk at the Law Office of Joseph A. Blaszkow and Shah Peerally Law Group PC. Additionally, they have experience as a Business Clinician at Florida Coastal School of Law and as a Pharmacy Tech at Walmart. Earlier in their career, they created and hosted a talk show called "Life enTales" aimed at empowering youth.

Solace Awumee, Esq., CDPSE, CIPP/US has an extensive education history. They obtained their Juris Doctorate degree in Law from Florida Coastal School of Law, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. In addition to their legal education, they also pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Jacksonville University, attending from 2015 to 2016. Prior to their graduate studies, Solace Awumee earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from Radford University, completing their undergraduate education from 2011 to 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Solace Awumee holds the Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) certification from ISACA, obtained in February 2021. They also obtained the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in October 2021. Solace Awumee is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) through The International Association of Privacy Professionals, obtained in 2021. Additionally, they are certified as a OneTrust Certified Privacy Professional and a OneTrust Data Subject Requests Expert, both obtained in October 2021.
