Sebastian Flores has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy and engineering fields. Sebastian is currently working at COWI as the Vice President Markets Offshore Wind, where they hold a strategic role in the development of renewable energy projects. Prior to that, they worked at COWI as the Global Market Director, Wind Energy and Renewables, playing a key role in reducing project risks, costs, and providing innovative solutions to the industry. Sebastian also served as the Head of Network Wind India at the Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce, where they facilitated knowledge exchange and collaboration within the wind energy sector. In their previous roles at UL, Sebastian managed sales, business development, and project management for wind turbine certification. Sebastian also worked as a Certification Engineer for wind turbine rotor blades, overseeing design assessments and test inspections for multiple clients. Before entering the renewable energy field, Sebastian worked at Risø National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy and Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, gaining experience in structural blade design and wind turbine maintenance. Additionally, they served as an Invited Lecturer at Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica and gained engineering experience at Intel as a Microelectronic Package Quality and Reliability Engineer.

Sebastian Flores has an extensive education history. In 1999, they obtained a degree in Metallurgy from Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Sebastian pursued further studies and completed an MSC in Mechanical Engineering at Kun Shan University from 2005 to 2007. Sebastian then studied at National Taiwan University in 2007-2008, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. In 2010-2011, they pursued a Wind Engineering MSc at Hochschule Flensburg. In 2017-2019, they attended Esade and earned an Executive MBA in Business Administration, Management, and Operations. Sebastian also dedicated their time in 2018 to exploring Digital Platform Economies at Copenhagen Business School and Organizations Transformation and Change Management at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas.
