Stephen Slot Odgaard has over 30 years of work experience in the engineering field. Stephen Slot began their career at Ramboll as a Student Aid before moving on to Knudsen & Johnsen as a System Developer. Stephen Slot then worked at COWI as a Civil Structural Engineer, mainly on the Hibernia Project in Paris. Following this, they joined Doris Engineering as a Civil Engineer and later as a Civil Structural Engineer / Post processing database manager at DORIS in Newfoundland, Canada. Stephen Slot returned to COWI as a Civil Structural Engineer and progressively rose to the roles of Senior Project Manager, Chief Project Manager, and finally, Project & Market Director, Tunnels. In their latest role, they were responsible for various tasks including key account management, regional market responsibility, portfolio management, project management, mentoring, and coordination within tunnels at COWI.

Stephen Slot Odgaard completed their M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 1985 to 1990. Prior to that, they attended Birkerød Statsskole from 1982 to 1985. Stephen Slot also attended Sjælsøskolen from 1980 to 1982. Stephen briefly studied at Bangkok International School in 1979 and at South Island School from 1978 to 1979. Stephen Slot completed their earlier education at Høsterkøb from 1973 to 1980.
