Hashem Shokair

Hashem Shokair has a diverse work experience in the field of sustainability and environmental management. Hashem currently holds the position of Vice President of Sustainability and Regulatory Compliance at CR&R Incorporated, where they are responsible for managing sustainability initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance. Before this, they served as the Enterprise Sustainability Director at the same company, overseeing sustainability programs and strategies. Prior to joining CR&R Incorporated, Hashem worked at Waste Management as a Public Sector Regional Manager, where they provided environmental solutions services to customers in North America. Hashem also has experience in event management and communication, having served as the Director of Delegation Services - Communication at the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015. Additionally, Hashem has worked as an Operations Executive at Global Transport Forum, focusing on the transport and oil/gas storage sectors. Hashem started their career as a Transportation Specialist and Major Account Manager at MV Global Transport Logistics, working on contracts in different countries. Hashem also has experience as a Resource Management and Recycling Consultant for the London Borough of Hackney, where they assisted in the development and analysis of a composting and recycling education scheme. Hashem Shokair pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Sustainable Environmental Development and Management from Kingston University, which they completed from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they attended San Francisco State University from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Comparative World Literature with emphases in World Religions and Gender Studies. In 2012, they obtained the certification of Associate Member from the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
