Carolynne Thomas

Partner at CRA

Carolynne Thomas advises executives on their most important challenges, including how they lead, how they align their organizations to strategy and priorities, and how they create followership in the process of both.

A Partner since 2009, Carolynne has helped to set the standard for how they advise clients to build advisory relationships, reduce the uncertainty during times of change, adopt new ways of working, and improve leadership effectiveness. Carolynne also co-founded three CRA institutions: the Minnesuing Group, the Strategic Communication Academies at Sundance, and the HR Leadership Academy. In 2010, she led the development of a model for Manager Effectiveness: a framework to measure, track, and understand how well managers are leading their direct reports.

Before joining CRA in 2000, Carolynne researched the effects of genetic counselors’ communication styles on parents of newborns for the Human Genome Project. She earned Communication Science and Women’s Studies degrees from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Denver.
