Jim Knockeart, P.E. currently serves as the Engineering Manager at Crane ChemPharma & Energy since March 2024. Previously, at Proterra Inc from January 2021 to March 2024, Jim led a multidisciplinary team in Design Release Engineering, overseeing the complete bill of material for battery electric buses and driving cost reduction and reliability projects. In earlier roles at General Motors from June 2010 to January 2021, Jim held various engineering positions, including Sr. Vehicle Performance Engineer and Sr. Design Release Engineer, focusing on fuel economy targets, steering system development, and high voltage battery reliability. Jim earned both a Master's degree in Energy Systems Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
