Kara Zona has a diverse work experience across various industries. Kara joined Crane Currency in 2017 and has held multiple positions there, including Head of Micro Optic Design, Micro Optic Design Manager, Design Team Lead, Optical Designer II, and Optical Designer I. Before joining Crane Currency, they worked at The Frame Source as a Designer and Custom Framer, and at Tiny Monster Studios LLC as a 3D Modeler. Kara also worked as a Contractor at SCI and as a Design Center Sales Lead at Dick Blick Art Materials. In addition, they have worked as a 3D Modeler for Red Bull Soapbox Challenge and as a Director, Animator, and 3D Modeler at Savannah College of Art and Design. Kara started their career as a Freelance Artist for Buddy's Saucy Dogs, where they designed illustrations for private clients.

Kara Zona attended Savannah College of Art and Design from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Animation.

Our unique one-site paper and printing facility in Tumba, gives our customers the unique opportunity to have their banknotes, designed, and printed in the same secure facility where the paper and embedded security features are produced. In December 2017, the company commenced operations in a new banknote production facility in Malta. It is one of the most modern and advanced banknote printing facilities in the world.
