Jorge Moreno López

Jorge Moreno López has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Jorge has recently worked as a Data Technical Lead at Crayon, starting in 2023. Before that, they worked as an Azure Data Engineer (contract) at Ambassador Theatre Group from 2022 to 2023.

From 2019 to 2022, Jorge worked at Transport for London, where they held multiple roles. As a Lead Data Engineer (Lead Build & Design Compliance Manager), they successfully reduced the technical debt and performance backlog of the main Data Warehouse in a year. Jorge also led a development team and utilized Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Synapse Analytics to deliver a complex system.

Prior to that, Jorge worked as a BI Technical Lead at PageGroup in 2018 and as a Lead Data Engineer at Transport for London from 2016 to 2018. Jorge also gained experience as a Senior BI Developer at Dr Foster in 2016.

In 2014, Jorge worked at Data Intelligence Ltd. as a Data Warehouse Developer. Jorge designed and implemented Microsoft BI solutions using SQL Server 2012 and 2008 R2. Jorge also performed performance tuning of ETL processes and executed production processes using Azure servers.

Jorge began their career at Coritel (Accenture) in 2004, where they served as a Team Lead/Software developer. Jorge specialized in Microsoft technologies, project management, and leadership. Jorge also worked as a Software Engineer at Getronics Consulting from 2001 to 2004 and as a Software Developer at UniversaliaWeb in 2001.

Overall, Jorge has a strong background in data engineering, BI development, and leadership, with expertise in Microsoft technologies and Agile methodologies.

Jorge Moreno López graduated from UNED in 2014 with a degree in Computer Engineering, specializing in Informática. Prior to that, they attended CUNEF from 1994 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, focusing on Administración y Dirección de Empresas. Jorge completed their 12th grade at Service HS in AK, USA in 1994. Before that, they attended Liceo Sorolla from 1980 to 1993. Jorge has also obtained various certifications, including Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals, MCPS: Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012, MongoDB for DBAs, Certified ScrumMaster, Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE), and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
